What we collect

GoHouses.ca collects no personal information from visitors. There are no sign-up forms, no accounts, no email capture, and no contact forms on this site. You can read every page on GoHouses.ca without providing us any information about yourself.

Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — how many people visit, which pages are most useful, and where visitors come from geographically at a broad level. Google Analytics does not identify you as an individual. We receive aggregate data: page views, session counts, general geography (city or region level), and device type. We do not have access to your name, email address, or any personally identifying information through Google Analytics.

Google Analytics sets a cookie on your browser to distinguish returning visitors from new visitors. This cookie does not contain personal information. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by using a browser with tracking protection enabled.

Cookies

The only cookies set on GoHouses.ca are those placed by Google Analytics as described above. We don't use advertising cookies, marketing cookies, or any cookies of our own. The interactive checklist on the house-hunting checklist page uses your browser's session to store checkbox state, but this data never leaves your browser and is cleared when you leave or reset the page.

External links

GoHouses.ca links to external sites including TorontoProperty.ca, PropertyProperty.ca, FindRealEstateAgents.ca, and government websites. These sites have their own privacy policies. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Data retention

Because we collect no personal data, there's nothing to retain. Google Analytics data is retained in aggregate form according to Google's data retention settings — we've configured this to the minimum available period.

Children

GoHouses.ca is a general information site intended for adults making financial decisions. We don't knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18.
